Accounts of home isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic: Case of Peruvian indigenous students

Most of the literature that has emerged about impacts home isolation during COVID-19 pandemic suggests it causes mildly to acutely adverse psychosocial and physiological responses, particularly in children. Such responses relate separation children experience from their normal routine, including loneliness, anxiety, depression, adversities associated with school performance. In this case study, we explore intersection between three phenomena Perú: (1) practice Transcendental Meditation by students at a (2) provincial (3) isolation. The study conducted semi-structured interviews Puno seven students, parents, two teachers. A proto-theoretical model stress, stress response, outcomes categories—cognitive, affective, conative—guide research. Findings suggest had salutary effect on student academic achievement, multifactorial benefits related learning, calmness, grades.
